Back from another amazing trip! (my 4th with C R McPhail). China is the most amazing place. Ron and his team really turned it on with the first Fonterra Farmers trip. The hotels were beautiful – we kept saying they couldn’t get better but they did!
A lovely mix of farming venues and sight seeing – the Great Wall, Terracotta Army and then the cruise down the Yangtze to see the 3 Gorges Dam.. mind blowing and should be on everyones bucket list. So many highlights, too many to mention but the food, the people and the culture plus many friends made on the trip.. a lifetime of memories.
This is your unique opportunity to experience parts of New Zealand that many people never get to see. Top performing arable and dairy properties in Canterbury, iconic high country stations in Canterbury and Otago and the beautiful sights of the McKenzie Basin with the magnificent backdrop of the Southern Alps.
Hear about the battles farmers have with rabbits and wallabies, learn about the varied and comprehensive training programmes run for students in Cromwell and see the ultra fine Merino wool produced on hard country. On a trip up to the Lammerlaw range you will see innovation in action with the introduction of legumes to improve the tussock country.
Visits to an incredible variety of enterprises in the Teviot Valley add to the wide variety of interests provided on this tour. Another highlight of the tour will be a visit to a spectacular castle just north of Oamaru.
